Small Business Cybersecurity Training Academy

Come and learn how to become compliant with regulations to do business with the federal government. Participants will leave each session with an action plan on the steps needed to meet the requirement for the topics covered that day. The guidelines put into effective this past December of 2017 make business owners and managers responsible for office operations and a formalized plan.

The Small Business Cybersecurity Training Academy is designed to address the federal requirement for contract compliance outlined by the FAR and DFARS as well as the NIST cybersecurity framework.  This Academy will be a hands-on series in which each participant will develop functional plans and processes to address cybersecurity compliance requirements and resiliency.

Target Audience – business owners and managers responsible for ensuring requirements are met. Elements considered for participant selection will include: current clients of the UTSA PTAC, federal contracting activity, size of business, number of years in business, and industry type.

  • Is your business in compliance with the DFARs against cyber attacks?
  • Are you aware of the Federal Contracting requirements on data security?
  • Do you have a Systems Security Plan that meets Federal requirements?

This Academy will be a hands-on series of four 4-hour sessions over a 4 week period in which each participant will develop a plan to address cybersecurity compliance requirements.

Dates: Wednesdays– August 1, 8, 15, & 22, 2018
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 pm

Cost: $200 per company (Payable upon acceptance into academy)
